WENATCHEE — When Tour de Beer was first organized a year ago, the idea behind setting up the outdoor beer gardens on downtown Wenatchee streets was to make the experience of watching the annual Tour de Bloom Criterium even better for spectators.

Mission accomplished, as evidenced by the hundreds of people gathered at last year’s beer gardens, many clanking cow bells and cheering as cyclists raced by. Read More

WENATCHEE — It wasn’t long after Evan Plews had moved to Wenatchee in 2013 and had ventured into the Foothills for some mountain biking that Plews and his buddies came to a conclusion.

“We were like, ‘We have to have a ride here,'” recalls Plews.

LAKE WENATCHEE — This Saturday’s Moose Dewlap Citizen Trek is on, although the course has been shortened a bit.

Despite low snow levels throughout the Cascades, there is enough snow in the Meadow Creek area near Lake Wenatchee for the inaugural cross-country ski trek to go forward.

The length has been shortened from 26 miles to 16.5 miles and the official start will take place at the Fish Lake Sno-Park rather than at the Lake Wenatchee Recreation Club. Read More
