How to get there: Heading west from Wenatchee on Highway 2, drive into the town of Leavenworth. Turn right onto Ski Hill Drive, and drive north 1.4 miles to the Leavenworth Ski Hill parking lot. The trailhead is just beyond the gate and ticket booth.
Highlights: Plentiful wildflowers make this a lovely springtime ride. The narrow, forested road offers switchbacks and a gentle climb to nice views of Leavenworth. There are several short loops that you can piece together for a decent ride. It’s a great spot if you’re new to mountain biking or don’t have a time for a long ride.
Lowlights: This short and relatively easy trail ride may leave mountain bikers hungry for more. This is also a popular hike and trail run, so you’ll be sharing the trail with others.
Things to know: No permit or fee is required for spring, summer or fall. No pets allowed. Winter use for Nordic skiing requires a day pass through the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club.
