How to get there: Heading west from Wenatchee on Highway 2, drive through the town of Leavenworth. At the far edge of town, turn left onto Icicle Creek Road. Follow Icicle Creek Road and watch for signs to the hatchery; it will be on your left. The street address is 7505 CYO Road, Leavenworth.
Highlights: Classic ski or skate ski your way along Icicle Creek, through the woods and across open meadows on the Icicle Creek Trail at the Leavenworth Fish Hatchery. The gentle terrain provides a great environment to learn on as well as a speedy, multiple-lap cardio workout for experienced skiers. The views of the surrounding mountains are phenomenal. The trail is groomed often provide the best skiing conditions possible.
Lowlights: The Icicle Creek ski trail is a popular destination for skate skiing and cross-country skiing, so plan on sharing the parking lot and trails with plenty of others. As with all winter sports, trail and snow conditions are weather dependent.
Things to know: Nordic Trail pass is required. There is a drop box for fees if you arrive before or after the trail office hours. Ski equipment rental can be found at local retailers in Leavenworth and Wenatchee.
